Classroom Management
Organizing centers by color is a good and good way to differentiate instruction. I would write the students names on white paper so that I can change the groups around as I need to. Being organized and having the centers visually shown on a chart like this, will create easier transitions because the students know exactly where to go each time just by finding their name.

I believe that students should have jobs in the classroom because it allows them to feel important and like they have a special role or place in the classroom. Students with jobs can feel the pride in what they are doing, and then in turn, feel pride within the classroom.

Using hand signals to stand for things that can be answered with a simple yes or no allows for little disruptions in the classroom. Using these hand signals during whole group instruction, small group, and centers/work stations will allow me as the teacher to be able to continue my lesson with little disruption.

Having a chart such as the one on display on the board will allow the students that did not hear, forgot, or were not in the room at the time of instruction, will be able to look and see what materials they will need for the lesson.
